Good song, its blairing now.
So I went back to the store, talked to the bike expert (Actually had a good long talk with her, found out she was from houston, and everyday she rides her bike from Kailua to work at the MCX) and ended up buying that Swinn. For all my gadgets (Helmet, spare innertube, portable tire pump, multitool, reflector belt (Base Mando) as well as bungie cords and an uber shwishin cooler bag for my rack) plus the bike I only spent $250! It was getting dark by the time I got home, so no pictures today but tomorrow I plan on hitting the beach!
Also was standing behind an older couple (The man was a navy WO2) at the checkout, and they said my bike looked like a cadillac and complimented me on my soon to be bike. Even the younger girl who was helping the biker expert lady liked it, so I was quite happy with myself.
Well in other news! Command Indoc started today. I thought it would only take like an hour or two, right?
Command indoctrination SHOULD be done by this Thursday. :S
But I look forward to this Thursday, cus thats when the Command Master Chief takes all the newbie first command guys to Pearl and shows them about. He mentioned some of the museums, a nice lunch, as well as the USS Arizona, so I'm uber excited- [Huh, so I just looked up 'Uber' and as it turns out the americanization of the word comes from Nietzsche who coined "Ubermensch" to describe a advance man humans may one day be. Hitler used this to describe his ideas of a super soldier of sorts, but a jewish comic book writer Jerry Siegel took this idea and made a 1933 comic book called 'The Reign of Superman', the story of an evil mastermind named Superman. Later Siegel and Joseph Shuster turned Superman into the man we know today. So next time you use the word 'Uber' think of Superman and where he comes from.] -that now that I have a bike I can get across the runway and explore the beaches up there. EEK! I can't wait for tomorrow afternoon!
Lets see, what else?
Oh yes! TEENAGE WASTELAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!
Very nice Kyle, get all teched out! See, it's not really a toy when you're going to be there for a few years, so I'm glad that you made the investment! Can't wait to see pictures. Gah, I wish our command would take us out and show us the..... ? ....never mind, there isn't anything spectacular to see at Lewis. Tehe.

On another note I was about to cross the street today when one of these started coming down the road, and these things are, to put it lightly; BIG.
So being the apprehensive type when it comes to crossing streets already, I think to myself 'You know... I think I'll let him pass.'
And wouldn't you know it the fucker decides to stop to let me cross. As I'm walking by I can hear the engine rumbling, and to be honest it did not help my nervousness one bit.
