Day 1, Post 2

So I got bored and decided to walk around the base and found some interesting things.

My first stop was the bowling ally, and found it to be quite nice inside, despite the current renovations they were doing. After that I walked across a parking lot and found a nice little chinese place and had some food. I'm getting quite good with Chopsticks now (It doesn't hurt my hands anymore!)
After that I walked across base to the Marina and SCUBA locker and looked around. I found out for $199 and in one week I can get my PADI open water certificate, which is an international lifelong thing. Whoop! I plan on doing it, too. There's two classes this months; the 11th and 25th. I think I'll go for the 25th after the next payday, that way on this paycheck I can buy the stuff I need (Mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit boots) as well as a bike and hit the beach's past the runway, that way I can give myself some time in the water.
After that I walked back, checked out the pool (It looks nice) and came back home. BUT! While I was at the Marina I walked down the pier and snapped off three pictures of the mountains and made a quick Panorama out of it! Enjoy!

  2. That's beautiful! And I'm so jealous, you get to learn how to scuba dive! I would do that up here, but it's not exactly the type of water to go scuba diving in. I'm so glad to see that you went out and found something to do on your off time, that you're taking a hold of your life and creating something out of it that is separate from work :) Go you!

  3. Shop wisely for that Bike! I would spend some time on line and see what you can get at the NEX. Also at the big NEX at Pearl there is a large dive shop area that you should check out. Sounds fun.
